Hotels and High-Quality Tourism

From the Caribbean landscape to Umbria: hospitality as a memorable experience.

Designing a hotel — or any hospitality destination — requires a precise synthesis of identity, comfort, sustainability and return on investment. Studio Lauria Network approaches hospitality by considering the hotel not simply as a building, but as an experience: a system of private and shared spaces, routes and landscape. Surfaces, materials and light are the ingredients of the multisensory approach applied by the practice across widely differing contexts.

The settings range from Colombia’s Caribbean coast — where a master plan covers more than one hundred hectares west of Cartagena, rising from the sea towards the first hills of equatorial vegetation — to northern Brazil; in Europe, they extend from Portugal to the Albanian coast at Durrës and the landscapes of central Italy.

In South America, our projects often cover extensive areas and require the ability to bring architecture, landscape and sustainable tourism development together. In Italy, the emphasis is more often on the rehabilitation and interior design of historic buildings, whether in cities or in highly valued rural settings. Here, restoration design, carefully calibrated atmospheres and comfortable spaces define a contemporary model of hospitality.

For hotels, luxury hotels and resorts, architectural design developed in a BIM environment allows every aspect to be coordinated: layout, building services, energy efficiency, perceptual quality, maintenance and durability. The goal is to create distinctive places that generate value over time and offer guests an authentic, elegant and memorable experience. For investors and hospitality operators, this method reduces design risk and increases the commercial potential of exclusive destinations. From concept to construction, every decision supports positioning and reputation.

Bromelia!
Multifunctional street furniture for tangible sustainability.
“Bromelia” began as a piece of multifunctional street furniture, but its ambition is broader: to transform a service element into a small environmental, social and symbolic infrastructure. Inspired by the bromeliad, a plant capable of collecting and retaining water, the structure interprets nature not as decoration but as an operational model.
Libraries, Theatres and Spaces for Music
Cultural venues as protagonists of new urban relationships.
Libraries, theatres and music venues are places where architecture becomes a collective experience. They are not simply containers for functions, but urban devices capable of generating knowledge, relationships and identity. Studio Lauria Network has addressed these themes in very different contexts, always focusing on perceptual quality, technical precision and the relationship with the community.
Large Residential Developments
Designing places to live, from private domestic space to the urban scale.
Residential design is one of the fields in which architecture most directly demonstrates its ability to influence quality of life. For Studio Lauria Network, designing homes means creating relationships: between inside and outside, residents and landscape, private space and collective life.

Aware of the challenges of globalisation, we draw on Italian creativity to develop projects that respect and enhance local identities and cultures.
