ABOUT US
Our team integrates architecture and engineering, supporting project development from the creative phase through to construction. We work in a BIM environment and offer clients a proven ability to solve complex problems.
Founded by Daniele Lauria in Florence in 1999, our practice works across urban planning, architecture, exhibition design and interior design. Our first project – an exhibition pavilion built in Piazza della Signoria in Florence and presented at the 2000 Venice Architecture Biennale – was followed by major public and private commissions: from the restoration of the former Santa Maria Maggiore convent in Florence (as “House of Creativity”) to the design of the Cascina Hospital and the headquarters of the workshop “La Sterpaia”, founded by Oliviero Toscani.
Since 2009, Studio Lauria has also been active in South America, developing projects in Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia and, above all, Brazil. Here the practice worked on the development plan for the island of Cotijuba (Belém do Pará) and, in São Paulo, on the regeneration of the historic city centre and the design of Motorola’s local headquarters.
Over the past decade, the practice has diversified its activities through specialist teams working on restoration — including projects for many of Florence’s museums, the Piacenza State Archives and the successful competition for the rehabilitation of Palermo’s former cotton mill — as well as on cultural venues and sports facilities. Cultural projects include the new 2,500-seat auditorium at Castello.
Among the latter are the second-place entries in the competitions for the Franchi Stadium in Florence and the Vomero Stadium in Naples and, above all, the redesign of the Italian Football Federation’s National Technical Centre in Coverciano.
Since 2024, our Studio has also been active in Albania, where the European Investment Bank (EIB) appointed Daniele Lauria to develop the Master Plan for the Museums of Shkodër and, more recently, we are expanding our network towards Eastern Europe and the Arab world.
Our ability to develop new architectural concepts, and our skills in the field of restoration and urban regeneration has led us to collaborate with Renzo Piano Building Workshop, Leonardo Benevolo, Zaha Hadid Architects, Pritzker Prize laureate Balkrishna Doshi and Kengo Kuma.
Studio Lauria Network’s projects have been featured in magazines and online platforms including Abitare, ArchDaily, Archello, Architect Magazine, Architettura Italiana, Architizer, Arq Peru, Decorar, DOMUS, Inexhibit, IQD, Plataforma Arquitectura, Wired and World Architecture..
Finally, Daniele Lauria has collaborated with Il Giornale dell’Architettura, IQD and the Fondazione Feltrinelli.
He has actively participated in conferences, symposiums and events in numerous countries around the world and has also taught “Sustainable Architecture and Urbanism” at the Florence University of the Arts, as well as “Exhibition Design Management” at IED Florence.
