Built on pre-existing medieval structures, the Villa di Rusciano is one of the finest buildings on the hillside south of the city of Florence. Founded basis of study attribute its first design, commissioned by Luca Pitti, to Filippo Brunelleschi and is probable an intervention by Bernardo Rossellino on the north elevations. The villa was then enlarged in the 17th century. A full restoration project is accompanied by the redevelopment of the external spaces and the functional adaptation to make the Villa the seat of public offices and a higher education school.
