Studio Lauria designed the plan to remove the architectural barriers into the five museums managed by the “Bargello Museums” institution, which includes – in addition to the Bargello National Museum – the Medici Chapels, the Church and Museum of Orsanmichele, Palazzo Davanzati and the Museum of the Martelli Houses.
The project is financed by the Ministry of Culture and includes the design of new street entrances, the adaptation of elevators (and in the case of Orsanmichele, an external lifting platform), the construction or modification of ramps, and the adaptation of toilets. Furthermore, the project includes new formats for reception services and the management of installations, alarm signals and systems appropriate for cognitive, cultural and sensorial as well as physical disabilities.
